Eugenio Zamora, 80, of Cheyenne, died on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born on November 25, 1935 in Jarales, New Mexico and had lived here since 1971.
He retired from the State of Wyoming Surplus Department and was a member of the American G.I. Forum J.T. Garcia Chapter. Gene enjoyed playing pool, hunting, fishing, auctions, and restoring his classic cars.
Gene is survived by his wife, Shirley Zamora, whom he married on June 30, 1989; a son, Mario Zamora (Kasey Calderon); daughters, Diann Catano (Ramon), Mary Wells, L’Dena Pereira, and Robbie Huber (Tom); brothers, Jake (Mary Ann) and Phillip (Terry) Zamora; sisters, Alice Zamora (Jesus Vazquez Quintana), Edwina Baca, and Mary Ann Manning; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eumelia “Toni” Zamora; and his parents, Ernesto and Carmelita (Maestas) Zamora.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Thursday, 6:00 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Olivet Cemetery.
