Eugene Romero, 80, of Cheyenne, died March 6th in Lakewood, Colorado.
Mr. Romero was born August 13, 1934 in Ledoux, New Mexico to Jose D. and Merencia Romero.
He lived in Cheyenne for over 50 years.
Eugene enjoyed traveling, sight seeing, fishing, gardening and growing beautiful flowers. He loved animals and was definitely a people person.
He was a member of Restoration Fellowship International, Eagles FOE 128 and AARP.
Mr. Romero is survived by his sons, Ernest (Shirley) Romero, Glen (Nickol) Romero both of Cheyenne, Leonard Romero and Chris Cruz both of Lakewood, Colorado; his beloved cousin, Rufie Espinoza; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose D. and Merencia Romero; a sister, Maxine Martinez and ex-wife, Elizabeth Gonzales.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., at Restoration Fellowship International, 522 Capitol Avenue, with Pastor Tom Perea officiating.
A reception at Destiny Church, 711 Warren Avenue, will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
