Fred Heil, 74, of Cheyenne passed away March 12 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 20, 1949, in Scottsbluff, NE to Eugene and Bette Vandel Heil. He has lived in Cheyenne since 1958.
Fred served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He flew combat missions as an Avionics Sensor Systems Specialist. He is a member of the American Legion.
Fred worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 25 years, earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree, and worked for Laramie County School District for 11 years as their New Project Coordinator.
Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene Keadle; daughter Connie (Jerry) Trowbridge; son Scott Heil; brother Richard Heil, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother Ray Heil.
Services will be on Friday, March 22 at 2:00 pm at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
