Eugene Robert Giffin, 81, of Cheyenne, WY, passed away November 22, 2018 in Cheyenne. He was born to Walter and Anna Giffin in Albany, NY on December 28, 1936. He made his career in Law Enforcement as a New York State Trooper, retiring in 1979. He moved to Wyoming to work as an investigator for the Division of Criminal Investigation for the Attorney General’s office. Gene, respected by many, once again retired in 2001. He loved family, friends, horses, church, and his coffee buddies. Gene also loved to dance and enjoyed hunting. Gene was a farrier on the side, also holding weekly men’s prayer breakfast. Survivors include his wife, Kimmey H. Giffin, daughter, Lindsey Hurlburt of Los Angeles, CA, granddaughters; Sarah Habighorst (Michael Kamara) of Calabasas, CA and Rebecca Hayes of Clearwater, FL, grandsons; Josh Hurlburt (Saint George, UT and Daniel Hurlburt of Anza, CA, great-grandchildren; Charli and Chase Kamara, and Madison Hurlburt, Step children; Jeremy Guidry (Ina) of Denver, CO and Kimmey (Jay) LeBlanc of League City, TX, and Kimmey’s grandchildren; Mackenzie and Skylar LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; John Giffin (pilot who was killed in WWII) and sisters Nancy Stancliff and Janie Stevers.
