Ethel E. (Libby) Woehle, 94, passed away Dec. 7, 2017, in Cheyenne.
She was born June 29, 1923, in West Jefferson, Ohio, and spent her childhood on the family farm in Sunbury, Ohio. At the age of 16, she moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio, where she graduated from Central High School in June 1941.
During World War II, she was employed at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio. In 1947, she married Douglas F. Dye Jr., and they had one daughter, Martie. In 1986, Libby married Paul Woehle and shortly afterward moved to Belen, N.M.
Libby’s career included working for several orthopedic surgeons in Columbus, modeling professionally and working in retail sales in a variety of clothing stores and boutiques. In 2001, she moved to Cheyenne to be near her daughter. She loved to garden and was especially fond of growing and tending to her roses. She made absolutely amazing jam and baked cookies and breads (especially at Christmas time). Libby was also an accomplished seamstress. She loved all her Scottish Terriers throughout the years: Laddie, Whiskers, Snuffy, Kirby, Katie and Rosie.
Libby is survived by her daughter, Martie Curl; son-in-law, Bruce E. Curl; grandchildren, Shawn D. Murphy and Heather E. Murphy-Petersen (Scott); step-grandson, Todd S. Curl (Kendra); four grandchildren, Blake Petersen, Lauren Gorney, David Clark and Brittany Clark, and nieces and nephews, with special affection for her niece Ethel (Sissy) McKay and husband, Don.
