Emerson Duran Sr., 66, of Cheyenne, died Tuesday, September 2nd at his home.
He was born February 27, 1948 in Cheyenne, to Demitrio and Lorraine Duran. Emerson attended schools in Rock River and Saratoga before enrolling at LCCC in Cheyenne. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
He spent his life as a lumberjack working in the woods in Walden, CO; Saratoga and Fox Park, WY. He was married to Cindy McLaughlin on July 6, 1973 in Walden, Colorado.
Emerson loved to read, and was a member of the VFW Post #1881.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Duran of Cheyenne; a son, Emerson Duran, Jr., Cheyenne; four daughters, Casey Ashworth; Anita Perry; Molly Duran, all of Cheyenne; and Tina De La Torre of California; seven grandchildren and one on the way; three brothers, Simon, of Utah; Robert, of Cheyenne; Danny of Rock River; and two sisters, Martha Rogers of West Virginia; and Virginia Cain of Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Johnny; and a sister, Elizabeth Duran.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
