Elma G. Lujan, 86, of Cheyenne, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 surrounded by family.
She was born on September 24, 1929 in Guadalupita, New Mexico to Reymundo and Annie Silva Garcia and had lived here since 1943.
Elma graduated with the first class of the LCCC Nursing Program. She was a very dedicated and caring nurse at DePaul Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fishing, trips to Black Hawk, and the Denver Broncos. Education was important to her, and she was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Lujan (Janie), Manuel Lujan, Jr., and Michael Lujan (Eleanor), all of Cheyenne; two daughters, Joann Valdez (Ray) of Cheyenne, and Eileen Cook (Rick) of San Diego, California; two brothers, Joe Garcia (Betty) of Cheyenne and Ray Garcia (Carol) of California; one sister, Jane Gallegos (Clarence) of California; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Elma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Estevan, Ted, Alfred, and Steve Garcia; and sister, Mary Prosinski.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Funeral Liturgy will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
