Elizabeth Glenna Singkofer was born October 25, 1925, and died March 10, 2024, at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. She was the daughter of Glen and Ethel Bowman of Burkmere, SD.
After graduating high school in Faulkton, SD, the family moved to Greeley, CO where she attended Colorado State College of Education. She interrupted her college education to marry and start a family, later completing her degree in Elementary Education. In following years, Elizabeth completed a Masters Degree program at Colorado State College. She worked her entire career for Laramie County School District #1, first as a teacher in 1956, then an administrator and finally as Principal of Alta Vista and then Buffalo Ridge Elementary, retiring in 1986.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Singkofer.
Elizabeth was the oldest of five children and is survived by a brother, Brent Bowman (Aleta) of Franktown, CO; two sons, David Long (Kim), Buena Vista, CO and Mark Long (Gail Gordon), Grand Junction, CO; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and Martin’s two daughters, Cathy and Mary Jo.
Elizabeth was a member of First United Methodist Church and PEO Chapter Z. She helped many throughout her long career and was an inspiration to both new and seasoned educators and was held in high regard by friends and colleagues.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.
