Elijah Caleb Mata

November 27, 1999 — July 3, 2014

Elijah Caleb Mata, our son, grandson, nephew and friend, born November 27, 1999, left this world July 3, 2014. He is now in the loving memory of our merciful God, Jehovah. Our hope is the same that Elijah shared, that one day soon he will be resurrected to life here in a paradise earth. (John 5:28,29)
Everyone who knew Elijah was immediately drawn to his warm, friendly and tender-hearted personality. He was a beautiful boy, inside and out. He was known for his impeccable GQ style. Elijah loved everyone he came in contact with. He was caring, generous and always ready to lend a helping hand. He would embrace them with a hug and shared his contagious smile. He loved being with his friends and family.
Elijah attended Goins Elementary, Johnson Junior High and was preparing to attend South High. He was actively involved in sports including basketball, football and soccer, but his main passion was boxing. He was a member of the Pacheco Cheyenne Boxing Club and traveled the country to participate in boxing tournaments, many of which he won titles at.
He is survived by his parents, Arnold and Lea Mata; 2 sisters, Jordyn Duran and Shantele Mata; 2 brothers, Nikko Mata and David Hoskins; his grandparents, Eli and Diana Duran, and Arnold Sr. and Lupe Mata, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and childhood friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Dan and Bertha Madrid, Ponce and Ramona Hernandez, Francisco and Mercedes Mata, and Martin and Maria Luna.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 8:00 a.m., to 8:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Cremation will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Life Commemoration Services will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at the Holiday Inn.
