Elaine Gail Hein, 73, passed away July 12 after an extended illness at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family members.
She was born May 9, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas to Charles and Mary Burton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary and father, Charles.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn; son, Jeffrey and his wife, Patty of Maryland; daughter, Brenda of Cheyenne; and Jeffrey and Patty’s children, Jessica of Boston, James and his wife, Jenny and great-grandchild, Owen, all of North Carolina.
Elaine grew up in Villisca, Iowa until she married her high school sweetheart, Glenn. With Glenn’s Air Force career, they were stationed in Denver, Colorado and Wichita, Kansas before moving to Cheyenne around 1970.
Elaine was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. She loved singing, painting, quilting, cooking, and her grandchildren.
She also had a long career as a bookkeeper and office manager for several doctors and medical clinics in Cheyenne.
Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m., Friday at Christ Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Christ Lutheran Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or the Hepatitis C Association.
