Elaine M. Gonzales, 92, of Cheyenne, passed away at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on January 27. She was born May 17, 1928 to John and Pilar (Jiminez) Lopez in Cheyenne.
Elaine grew up here and met and married her soul mate Bill Gonzales. After getting married they had 5 children and started raising their family.
Elaine is survived by her children, Pete (Ida) Gonzales, Linda, Leo (Rosmira) Gonzales and Frank Gonzales; 5 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Angie Kamai of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother John Lopez of Cheyenne. She also has many nieces and nephews that she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pilar and John Lopez; husband, Bill Gonzales; daughter, Carmen Lopez; sisters, Beatrice Curtis and Lupe Ortiz; brothers, Jesus “Jess” Lopez and Andy Lopez.
Vigil for the deceased will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, in St. Mary’s Cathedral. Interment will follow the service at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Elaine will forever be known as a sweet and kind person. Who loved to dance and laugh. She always had open arms and a smile for everyone. Never judges a soul. And no one ever left her house hungry. She will be forever loved and missed.
