Edward C. Welsh of Cheyenne, a retired conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad, died on July 28, 2019 at the age of 70 years surrounded by friends and his loving family as a result of a prolonged illness. Ed was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 14, 1948 to Joseph and Margaret (Clarke) Welsh. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and made Cheyenne his home upon an honorable discharge. Ed is survived by his brother, Michael Welsh; sister, Maura Welsh; children, Sean (Jana) Welsh, Kyle (Wendy) Welsh, Bobbi Falzone, Bryan (Nici) Welsh and Rebecca (Mike) Gardner; grandchildren Taylor Powell, Caitlin Falzone, Mickayla Welsh, Akayla Gardner, Dustin Welsh, Ashley Falzone, Issac Gardner, Madisyn Nelson, Brayden Nelson, Kaleb Welsh and Blake Falzone; great-grandchildren Alexandra, Nathan and Chance Shewmake; and numerous nieces and nephews, and his good friend and honorary pallbearer, Frank Cross. He is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Welsh, and parents, Joseph and Margaret Welsh. Service will be held at 10 am Monday, August 5, 2019 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Father Dominic officiating. Interment with honors of his urn will be at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
