Edward Gene Hunter, 67, of Cheyenne, died on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
He was born on September 10, 1949 in Cheyenne and had lived here all his life.
Ed served in the U.S. Navy and was a master mechanic, member of the American Legion Post 6, VFW Post 1881, AmVets, Eagles Lodge, and the CFD Parade Committee. He graduated from Colorado Aero Tech and was a chuckwagon races judge. He also enjoyed fishing and music.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Hunter; a son, Steven Hunter (Kristin) of Auburn, Georgia; a daughter, Dawn Gallardo (Lalo) of Cheyenne; a sister, Mary Kay McCauley of Arvada, Colorado; eighteen grandchildren, Jarred and Jennifer Hunter, Emiliano, Cesar, Giancarlo, Marianna, and Analise Gallardo, Tanner and Tyler Halsey, Patricina, Carlitos, and Faith Apodaca; Christopher, Renee, Leandro, and Terrel Price, and Selena and Juanito Mausling; and two great-grandchildren, Teton and Nathan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Jane Hunter.
Services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
