Eddie H. Martinez, a cherished member of the Cheyenne community, passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 79 in Aurora, Colorado. Born on October 12, 1945, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Eddie lived a life brimming with love, family, and cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Eddie was a devoted father to his daughters, Joan Moyte and Carmen Ledesma, who will forever hold dear the lessons and values he imparted throughout their lives. As a grandfather, he found immense joy in watching his grandchildren, Raymond Moyte, Jr., Lovie Barnard, III, and Nina Carrassquilla, grow into extraordinary individuals. His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren, Osiris, Zion, David, Uriel, Rhea, Trent, and Raynie, who were the light of his life. Eddie is also survived by his siblings, Rudy Martinez, Rose Maez, Elsie Torres, and Jose Ojeda.
Eddie's family ties extended to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom fondly remember him for his kind spirit and unwavering support. His warmth and affection created bonds that have shaped the lives of many within his extended family.
Eddie is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Martinez, whose absence has been felt deeply. He was also preceded by his parents, Herminio and Alice Martinez, and his sisters, Helen Perez and Delores Sharkey. Additionally, he mourned the loss of his granddaughter, Nicole Moyte. Together, they have left an indelible mark on Eddie’s heart.
A Rosary will be held in his honor on April 3, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 603 House Avenue, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Following this, a Mass will take place on April 4, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together in remembrance of a life well-lived.
Eddie H. Martinez will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for his contribution to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love that will carry on for generations to come.
