Eddie Herdt, 83, died on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Primrose Retirement Community.
He was born on November 12, 1930 in Torrington, Wyoming and moved to Cheyenne in February 2014 after living in Torrington for 57 years.
Mr. Herdt was a member of First Congregational Church in Torrington and loved collecting John Deere tractors and memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife, Meryl (Wells) Herdt, whom he married on January 27, 1952 in Huntley, Wyoming; a son, William Herdt (Anji) of Newton, Iowa; two daughters, Susie Garver (Dave) of Cheyenne, and Geri Kominsky (Mike) of Kemmerer, Wyoming; a sister, Helen Maul of Torrington, Wyoming; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Eddie was preceded in death by four brothers, Alex, Reuben, David, and Leo Herdt; three sisters, Freida Keller, Eva Heckman, and Esther Neider; and his parents, David and Marie (Zeigler) Herdt.
Graveside services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, Wyoming with Pastor Jake Merriman officiating.
