Dwight E. Thyarks, 83, of Cheyenne, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 17, 1931 in Hanford, California, a son to Benard and Juanita (Thayer) Thyarks. Dwight served in the U. S. Air Force for twenty years, retiring in 1969. He was the manager for a time at Cow Town Boots and Owned Cheyenne Plaza Laundromat for several years. He married Nancy Whitling on January 9, 1954 in Reno, Nevada, 61 years of marriage.
Mr. Thyarks was a lifetime member of the NRA and the Cheyenne Trap and Skeet Club. He also enjoyed racing go carts in Clovis, NM and sports cars in Tripoli, North Africa.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Cheyenne; a son Barney (Linda) Thyarks of Cheyenne; three daughters, Carrie King and friend Galen King; Sunny (Mike) Derr; Julie Evans all of Cheyenne; a brother, Delbert Thyarks of California; seven grandchildren, Josh Henning, Jim (Jenn) Thyarks, Lacy Havel, Dallas Bowker, Kaci Thyarks King, Tralia Evans and Kodi King, all of Cheyenne; seven great grandchildren, Shane Henning, Colby Thyarks, Moriah Thyarks, Eliza Havel, Taliah Evans, Tanner Henning and Stacey Ann Thyarks King all of Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Linda Herron, and two grandchildren, Jessy D. and Stacey Mariah Thyarks.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for August 1, 2015 starting at 4:00 p.m. at his son Barney’s house, 5210 Coulter Circle, Cheyenne. BYOB

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
