Durla M. Cockley, 78, of Cheyenne, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at her home.
She was born May 16, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska. Durla graduated from high school in 1958 and went on to graduate College in 1972, 1975 and 1988 with a Master’s Degree. She had a love for teaching and education. She taught in Burns as well as Cheyenne before moving into an administrative position, retiring in 1997. Durla was a faithful Christian Woman with a love of family.
Survivors include two children, Terri Baumgartner; Kurt (Christine) Cockley; three grandchildren, Justin (Kelsey) Baumgartner; Weston and Eric Cockley; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Grace Baumgartner; a sister, Carolyn Bennett; and brothers, Ronnie and Jim Holladay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Walter Cockley; as well as her mother, Maxine (Gerald) Barkell.
Services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Donations may be made in Durla’s name to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
