Drais Loyal Anthony de Gomez Hubbard, 48, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed at Polaris Rehabilitation and Care Center while recovering from an illness. His girlfriend, Katy Bauer, was by his side.
He was born on January 12, 1976, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Damon A. Hubbard and Linda V. Hubbard. Drais was a plumber by trade, and his final job was as caretaker for the Chris Cline Ranch in the Upper Green River Valley in northwest Wyoming's Sublette County. Drais loved living in the Upper Green and had many good friends in the area.
He was known and loved for his loyalty to friends and family, excellent work ethic, unique sense of humor, intelligence, and kindness. He had many interests including world history, firearms, world travel, politics, and construction and building, among others.
Drais is survived by his mother, Linda V. Hubbard of Pueblo, Colorado; sister Charta (Hubbard) Davidson of Laveen, Arizona; brother-in-law, Elliott Davidson of Laveen, Arizona; girlfriend Katy Bauer of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and several aunts and uncles in the Colorado area.
Drais was preceded in death by his father, Damon A. Hubbard of Laramie, Wyoming; paternal grandfather Byron Hubbard of Hugoton, Kansas; paternal grandmother Helen Frizzell of Laramie, Wyoming; maternal grandfather Andres Gomez of Trinidad, Colorado; and maternal grandmother Maria H. Gomez of Pueblo, Colorado.
A Celebration of Life is being planned in Pinedale, Wyoming, date to be determined. The family encourages readers to share their stories and memories of Drais.
