Doyle Dewayne "Dude" Thompson

Doyle DeWayne “Dude” Thompson, 92, of Gering, Nebraska, died on November 16, 2020.
He was born on August 20, 1928 in Melborne, Nebraska.
Mr. Thompson served in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver. He was a member of the VFW and Teamsters Local 435.
He is survived by his dear friend, Dorothy Robinson; children, Joy Skinner, Dee Dee Mead, Michael Thompson, Barb Marrill, Linda Garvin (Bill), Cheryl Wegner, Patti Massie, and Cindy Medley (Boyd); a sister, Raymona Williams (Larry); a brother, Earl “Rusty” Thompson; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Thompson; son, Gene Wegner; son-in-law, Dennis Mead; daughter-in-law, Candy Thompson; siblings and in-laws, Jerome “Jerry Alexander (Mary), Forrest “Brick” Thompson (Mary and Inez), Loren “Sonny” Rittenhouse, and Donna Rittenhouse; and his parents, Ray and Phoebe Rittenhouse (Predmore).
Services will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with burial and military honors to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
