Douglas Mitchell Brown, 86, of Cheyenne, died on June 9, 2023 in Cheyenne.
He was born on June 2, 1937 in Woodland, California.
Dr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Ca. He was chosen to serve on the Admiral's Staff and also spent six months singing in the Naval Choir. He worked his way through a BA Degree, an MA Degree, and a Ph.d. Doug was a master teacher and taught students all the way from San Diego, Ca to Maine and many places in between. The joy of his life was to enlighten and share with his students. In 1980 he left the teaching profession and became an Appraiser of Real Estate. He retired from that at age 78 having passed that trade onto his sons, grandsons, and great grandsons. He was a true teacher. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout his life. He loved nature and spending time in the mountains fishing, hunting, hiking, and exploring. He loved taking his family horseback riding into the wilderness. His most treasured possessions were his beloved wife, Charlotte, and his family.
He is survived by – his wife, Charlotte, and his three children, Christopher (Laura), Heather (James), and Thaddeus (Raylene).
Dr. Brown was preceded in death by their daughter, Michele.
Visitation will be Thursday, 2-5, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 4-Mile Building.
