Dorothy M. Wyatt (Dottie), 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
She was born March 20, 1929, in Laramie, Wyoming, to Bill and Mabel Hulme. She graduated from high school in 1947 before attending the University of Wyoming where she majored in Home Economics.
In June of 1952 she married LV Wyatt. From this union were born Jana Hill and Todd Wyatt. The family remained in Laramie until 1963 before moving to Riverton. After a short two years in Riverton they moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming and then on to Casper in 1975. In 1979 Dottie and LV moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where they lived for the remainder of their days.
Dottie was fortunate to be a homemaker and spent many hours helping Boy Scouts, Junior Women’s League, sewing, painting and crafting. Dottie was known for her humor, wit, and feistiness. Yet she was well versed in social decorum – her purse always matched her shoes and she never wore white after Labor Day.
She is survived by her daughter Jana Hill and son Todd Wyatt (Tammy), granddaughters Tyler Wyatt (Tom Graham) and Torie Tocco (Derek), and great-granddaughter Ryder Winn Graham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dottie is also survived by her friend of 85 years, Mary Wilson, as well as the many people who’s lives she touched over the years. This includes the children who knew her as Great, Payton and Avery Moore, and Gage and Gavin Broda.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bill and Bob Hulme and Ellen Louise Drake. Also, preceding Dottie in death are her husband, LV Wyatt, and grandchildren J.D. and Heide Hill, all of whom were called home together on July 2, 1995.
Memorial services will be held at Weiderspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 2 p.m. with reception immediately following at the Gathering Place. Graveside services will be held with family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to advance research for the treatment of dementia or ovarian cancer.
