Dorothy “Kay” Stanley passed away in the early morning hours of April 5th in her home, surrounded by her family.
Born January 31, 1935 in Apalachin, New York, Kay lived a full life- from its origins in upstate New York, running the family diner, shrimping in the Gulf of Mexico, to bird watching in the Rocky mountains. She loved her family and people. Her personality turned any group into a community. She filled her time reading, doing crossword puzzles, and walking her precious dog Toby.
In Condor, New York she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the McKinsey Methodist Church. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star in Slaterville, New York. In Mobile, Alabama she was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and in Cheyenne, she was a member of the American Legion #6.
She is survived by two children, Jennifer (Bill) McLaughlin and Matthew Jordan; grandchildren, William (Elizabeth) and Shannon McLaughlin and four great-grandchildren, Brylan, Mya, Emily and William and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Patsy (Lawrence) Scovel, Beverly (Herbert) Barrows, Robert “Skip” Lind and Arthur Lind.
Life Commemoration services 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
