Dorothy E. Nickel, 89, of Cheyenne, died peacefully November 7, 2014 at her sister’s home in Cheyenne surrounded by her family.
She was born October 15, 1925 in Wellington, Colorado and had lived in Cheyenne for 80 years.
Dorothy worked as a teller at American National Bank then retired to care for her parents. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to cook, knit and care for her family.
She is survived by her sons, Ted (Kay) Durante, and Rick (Kathleen) Durante; grandchildren, Neil (Sara) Durante, Brett (Brandy) Durante, Allison Durante, Stephanie (Jeremy) Krasne, Lauren (Tom) Nelson, and J. Daniel Durante; her sister, Jean Georges and brother Chuck Rohwer.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ewald “Nick” Nickel, her parents, Dietrich and Clara Rohwer; son, Ed Durante, grandson, Destin Durante and her older brother, Richard Rohwer.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren, Lincoln Durante, Penelope Durante, Abram Durante, Casen Krasne, Brady Walden, Alivia Nelson, Jaylee Durante, Bradley Durante and Edward Durante.
Funeral Services will be at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at
2:00 p.m., Pastor Mark J. Maas will officiate.
