Dorothy M. Allen

Dorothy “Dot” Allen, 92, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Dorothy was born on May 16, 1932, in McCook, Nebraska, to Clara and Fordyce C. Steinhour. She retired from both the American National Bank and the Wyoming Highway Department.

Dorothy found joy in the great outdoors. She loved camping, fishing, and snowmobiling. She had a passion for cooking and grilling, taking pride in preparing meals for family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert G. Allen; her son, Robert L. Allen; and her brothers, Fordyce C. Steinhour Jr. and Gerald Steinhour. She is survived by her sisters, Donna Newland (Bernard) and Evelyn Grooms; her grandchildren, Kristi Matie (Alan) and John Allen (Christina); four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

All services will be held at Faith Baptist Church, located at 708 E Prosser Rd in Cheyenne, WY on Thursday, March 20, 2025. A viewing will be from 12 pm to 2 pm, and a Celebration of Life will start at 2:30 pm, with Graveside services to follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy’s memory will live on through those who knew and loved her.
