Doris B. Sumner

Doris B. Sumner, 88, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel is in charge of cremation arrangements. A private burial and gathering will take place at a later time and date. Doris was born to George and Alma (Walton) Shepard on September 12, 1926 in Kimball, Nebraska. She married John Sumner in 1945 and had over 50 years together. Doris was a homemaker, wife, and grandmother. She also took great pride in being a foster grandparent at Afflerbach Elementary School.
She is survived by her children; Gary L. Sumner of Arizona and her daughter Linda Sumner of Cheyenne. She also leaves behind many friends and coworkers, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all too numerous to name. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; George and Alma Shepard, husband John Sumner, son James E. (Jim) Sumner, three grandchildren, one great grandson, and six brothers.
