Doris Edna Huckfeldt, 93, of Cheyenne passed away March 28, 2015. Born February 19, 1922, in Lusk, Wyoming to Walter Leo (“Doc”) and Eva (Tweedy) Klemke. Doris grew up on the family dairy farm with her four sisters.
She married Frederick Carl Huckfeldt on September 11, 1945, upon his return from World War II. Doris was active in the Lutheran Churches which she attended.
She took great pride in raising her family and was a waitress and cook at the Virginian Hotel in Medicine Bow, Wyoming.
After retiring, Fred and Doris worked on seven different projects with Labors for Christ building churches all over the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
She is survived by her husband Fred of nearly 70 years, two daughters Angela (Ken) Macy of Pine Bluffs, WY; Joyce (Francis) Menke of Elk Mountain, WY; and one son, Matt (Linda) Huckfeldt of Cheyenne, WY. She and Fred have eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held on April 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 8806 Yellowstone Ave., Cheyenne, WY. The family requests that any memorials be made to the King of Glory parking lot fund or to Davis Hospice Center.
