Donna Jacqueline Roberts, 84 of Cheyenne passed away at Davis Hospice Center on September 27, 2018, with her daughter at her side.
She was born to Roy Alexander and Grace Pearl (Babcock) Kirkwood, on February 9, 1934 in Deloraine, Manitoba, Canada, the second of four daughters.
Donna did many things in her life, always looking for a new challenge. She was a Matron for the R.C.M.P. in Canada, owned three businesses, was a Bookkeeper, CNA, and Manager before finding her true calling as a Police Officer in Flour Bluff (Corpus Christi), Texas. After leaving the Department and moving to Cheyenne, she was a Senior Companion for fifteen years, ending in 2014.
Donna was active in the National and Local Republican Party, was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, painting, numerous crafts, reading, traveling and volunteering in her community.
Donna is survived by her two daughters, Charise (Chris) Thompson and Rochelle Pelfrey, both of Cheyenne; four grandchildren (James Thompson, Lisa Roberts, Michael Pelfrey & Shannon Roberts), ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins!
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Grace Kirkwood; her three sons, Roy Roberts, Craig Roberts and James Roberts; sisters and brothers-in-law Irene (Joe) Poberznick, Sylvia (Ralph) Amos and Gladys Kirkwood.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel in Cheyenne at 2:00pm. Cremation has taken place.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
