Donna L. Cool, 82, of Cheyenne, WY, passed away at Davis Hospice Center on Sunday, August 27th. She was born to Elmer and Nellie Munden in Boone, IA, on October 1, 1934.
Donna and her family moved from Boone to Cheyenne in 1942, where her father started working for the Union Pacific Railroad. She graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1952, and after graduation, she moved to Sacramento, CA to attend art school. Two years later, she returned to Cheyenne and worked at Pioneer Printing. She was 21 when she married Chuck Cool in 1955, and they had two children, Scott Cool of Cheyenne, and Crystal (Cool) Blackford of Rances Pass, TX. In 1958 she moved back to California and worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles, until she moved back to Cheyenne in 1966. She held various jobs with the Federal government until 1997, and then worked five more years at other jobs until she retired in 2002. Donna loved God and was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was involved with the United Methodist Women’s Group. She was an avid reader, and was also active with the Cheyenne Artists Guild, where she pursued her love of art, and created beautiful art for her family and friends over the years.
Donna is survived by her son, Scott, and four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren, as well as her four sisters, and their families, and multiple neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal, and her parents, Elmer and Nellie. Memorial donations can be given to the Faith United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
A service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held on Friday, September 1st at 4:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, located at 522 East 6th Street in Cheyenne.
