November 17, 1950 — February 8, 2020

Donald Slater, 69, of Cheyenne passed away February 8, 2020 at Davis Hospice Center.
He was born November 17, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Eugene and Bette Slater.
Don started his working career with the railroad for a number of years, then he went back to college to get his Licensed Practical Nurse degree and his addiction counselor degree. Don retired from Peak Wellness here in Cheyenne.
Don was a very good cook and enjoyed making meals for the family. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and family and going to the YMCA. He really enjoyed the hot tub.
Don is survived by Susan Hulse his loving significant other, and children Heather Slater (Nichelson) & Scott Slater. Grandchildren Kyle Slater and Von Ryan Grimm, and brother Jim Slater, all of Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Von Ryan Grimm Education Fund care of James Slater. A Memorial Service will be held at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes at 2:00pm, February 13, 2020, with reception to follow.
