Master Sergeant Donald (Don) G. Pierce, died peacefully on April 12, 2016. He was born June 6, 1928, in Morris, Illinois to Gordan Pierce and Ann Teena.
He enlisted in WWII as a Merchant Marine and upon return enlisted in the United States Air Force. Donald is a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam, where he earned several medals and was honorably retired from the U.S. Armed Forces in 1971.
Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife Fran, his children: Victoria Luna (William) and Alan Pierce, his step-children: Richard O. Dobson (Pamela), Michael L. Dobson (Katherine), Glenda L. Lyon, and Gregory K. Dobson (Rita), his grand-children: Kimberly Canarecci, Heather Canarecci, Timothy Claywell (Kathy), Randy Luna, Rebekah Nelligan (Don), Nathan Pierce, Ashley Pierce, Tiffany Pierce and Shane Pierce and numerous step-grandchildren, his great-grandchildren: Makayla Valdez, Savannah Pursel, Donald Nelligan III, Braydon Canarecci, Fable Luna and Sophia Pierce and his half-siblings Doug and Dennis Pierce and Ann McNelis.
The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Air Force never left him, as his family and friends will attest.
Services will be held this Saturday at 11 am at the Interfaith Chapel at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center. Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel is in charge of the cremation. Tributes of sympathy can be left to the family at
