Donald Elmer Lake, born January 15, 1946, to William (Bill) and Lottie Mae Lake. He married his best friend Betty Louise Lake. Don passed away on August 16, 2024, joining his bride, Betty. He was first and foremost a great husband, son, father, and grandfather.
Don loved hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, and competing in rodeos. He was a bull rider, roper, and a member of The Cowboy Turtle Association. He was a VFW Lifetime member as A Vietnam Veteran and a Purple Heart Recipient.
Construction was his trade, but his true passion in life was his family. Spending time with his kids, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, who he was so proud of. He was respected and loved he will be greatly missed by all as he was “Dad” to many other than his children, Dallas, Heidi, Kaycee, and Amanda.
He was proceeded in death by his beautiful bride, Betty Lake, whom he missed dearly; parents, Bill and Lottie Lake; brother, Archi “Billy” Lake; and sister, Carloyn Brown.
Don is survived by his children, Dallas D. (Crystal Cowden) Lake of Cheyenne, Heidi K. (Kevin) Edwards, of Kentucky, Kaycee J. (Heather) Lake, of Cheyenne, Amanda L. (Jerod) Evans, of Cheyenne; brother, James Lake; grandchildren, Naomi Lovett, Laramie Lake, Rille Evans, Dalton Evans, Sekora Lake, Tiernan and Destiny Beckwith; three great grandchildren, Stetson, Bailey, and MaKenna.
Don will always be known as a husband, father, son, grandfather, and most of all HERO!
