Donald Freeman, 92, of Cheyenne died July 18 at Davis Hospice Center.
Donald was born in Laramie, Wyoming to Gladwyn and Ruth Freeman on December 29, 1923. He attended the University of Wyoming for two years before enlisting in the Navy in 1944 serving as a motor machinist on the PC 1079 during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946, continued his education and graduated at UW. He taught six years in Reliance, Wyoming and ultimately settled in Cheyenne at Johnson Junior High for his 31-year teaching career.
After retiring, he enjoyed playing tennis and found a love of pottery through LCCC.
He is survived by his sister, Gladys (Harold) Dodge of Montrose, Colorado, his son, Larry (Teresa) Freeman of Boone, NC, and their three children. He is also survived by his daughter Nancy (Patrick) Higgins of Cheyenne, their two children, Megan Higgins of Bozeman, and Joe (Ashley) Higgins and great-grandsons, Jaxon and Hunter, of Douglas.
Cremation has taken place. Private memorial to be held at a later date.
