Don Warren, 77, died at home, in Cheyenne, WY on Feb. 6th.
He was born October 20, 1937 in Charlotte, NC to Bertha Bright Horton. He was devoted to his mother and led quite a life as a teenager. While most of those stories are not fit to print, I assure you, they’re awesome. After hitchhiking across the country and hustling pool to get by, he joined the Air Force in 1957, served in Vietnam and retired in 1987. After retiring, he attended L.C.C.C. and earned his Associates Degree, then began a new career in Civil Service from which he retired in 1997. He met and married Ruth Ann Morrical while stationed at Payne Field, in Everett, WA, in 1966. They’ve lived in Wyoming since 1980.
Don was a member of the Airport Golf Course for many, many years. Golf and Ruth remained his true loves to the end of his life. Not necessarily in that order. Many golfers from the club may remember him for the lighter wallets they were left with after playing with him…at least, that’s how he would like you to remember him.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha, his brother, Jack, his sister Margaret and his daughter, Wendy.
He is survived by his brothers Tim Tyler (Vicky), Van and G.R. Warren; his sisters Gladys Brogan and Louise Rushing; his wife Ruth Warren, his daughter Terri Adams (John), his son Scott Wood (Demet), his grandsons Aidan and Ozan; his granddaughter, Melissa, as well as various in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. There are no services being planned.
