Don H. Piester, 91, of Cheyenne, died on March 19, 2019 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
He was born on September 4, 1927 in Mullen, Nebraska.
Mr. Piester served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Motor Machinist’s Mate, Third Class, V6 attached to the Little Creek Amphibious Fleet. He was a master diesel mechanic and an amateur “HAM” radio operator of “ Mars “ station K7OAF. Don restored antique radios inside and out, and liked to travel, the outdoors, music, fixing stuff, and birds and animals.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Piester; children, Dennis Piester and JoAnn Lopez; siblings, Charles Piester, Gloria Martinez, and Gayle Olson; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by a son, Steven Piester; siblings, Robert, Blanche, and Marla; and his parents, Charles and Emily Piester.
Services will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Burial will follow in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
