Don L. Edeen

August 21, 1937 — January 29, 2024

Don Edeen, 86, passed away peacefully in his home on January 29, 2024 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Don was born on August 21, 1937 in Cheyenne.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Hazel, his son, Dan (Rachel) Edeen and their children, Seth and Jared, his son, David (Kerri) Edeen and their children, Gunnar (Anna), Grace (Drew), Gabby, Reata and Kenton, and his daughter, Diana (Gordon) McAuley-Wright, and their children, Megan, Kyle, Lauren, Allison, Lauren, and Bailey, and great grandkids, Mila and Owen.
Don graduated from Laramie High School in 1955 and joined the Army. He did his basic training in Fort Bragg and served with the 82nd Airborne in Germany. Upon being honorably discharged from the military, he worked for the United States Postal Service and met his wife, Hazel, at a bowling league in Laramie, and married January 20, 1962. After holding various jobs with the state of Wyoming, and the University of Wyoming, Don began his career in construction. He owned Edeen Construction and built quality, custom homes for over 25 years. One of his greatest joys during this time was mentoring other contractors and helping them get their start in the industry. Upon retiring from the construction business, Don and Hazel fulfilled their dream of traveling in an RV from the lower 48 states to the state of Alaska. Don loved to hunt, fish, and go boating, along with camping and enjoying time with his family.
Don will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and those who knew him. There will be no service, however, a celebration of life will be held with family and close friends.
The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donation can be made to CRMC Foundation in support of cardiac services at CRMC Foundation, 214 E 23rd St, Cheyenne Wyo 28001.
