We celebrate the life of DeLoris R. Bauer, 93, of Cheyenne. She was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on June 20, 2023, while at home surrounded by her family and friends.
DeLoris “Dee” was born May 26, 1930, in Morrill, NE, the daughter of John and Ola Schultz. She graduated from Morrill High School and attended Scottsbluff Jr. College where she attained a Normal Teaching Certificate. Dee taught school in Ft. Laramie, WY, and in South Morrill, NE. In 1952 she married Edward Bauer, her beloved husband of 65 years.
Dee was a born-again Christian who served her Lord in many capacities. Her friendly hugs, loving heart, and genuine thankfulness indicated her sincere love for others. Dee was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church where she participated in its building process and attended its first service; she served in many ministries throughout the years. As a teacher in Women’s Aglow Fellowship Bible Studies, she further expanded her knowledge and love for Christ.
After moving to Cheyenne in 1960, Dee was a homemaker and also worked at Sopher’s Children’s Shop, Gibson’s Jewelry Department, KVWO Radio Station, and C.N. Bell Insurance.
Dee is survived by her two daughters Cindy (Bob) Farwell and Lyndee (Leif) Swanson; four grandchildren Matthew (Beth) Farwell, Travis (Emily) Farwell, Bethany (Aaron) Willmarth and Jordan Ness; and eight great-grandchildren Presley and Cameryn Willmarth, Ella, Luke, Matthew, Wyatt, Penelope, and Sawyer Farwell.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Edward; her parents Ola and John Schultz; her brothers Eddie, Dennis, and Mike Schultz; and her grandparents Jack and Octavia Schultz, Sarah Maude and James Parker; as well as her mother-in-law and father-in-law Pauline and Jacob Bauer.
A Celebration of Life will occur on July 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at Ascension Lutheran Church. A reception will follow.
