Delores Catherine Schwartzkopf Moore, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming died September 27, 2022. Delores was born November 1st, 1937, in Cheyenne to William and Lydia (Urich) Schwartzkopf
Delores lived in Cheyenne for most of her life and over the years made many friends and extended family. Delores was a loving and devoted mother to her three sons.
Delores worked in the beauty industry in her earlier life and then moved into the telecommunications field as a telephone operator, where she retired from Mountain Bell (ATT) in 1985. She also worked for Ohio Bell for 15 years while her and her family were relocated in the Ohio area.
Delores was a member of numerous community organizations and groups. She was a member of the 1st Christian Scientist church of Cheyenne. She was also a devoted and active member of the Odd Fellows Rebekah’s lodge in Cheyenne. She attended numerous retreats and activities with the Rebekah’s and always enjoyed assisting with their fundraising and community activities.
After retirement Delores volunteered with the LCSD1 Foster Grandparent Program for several years. She also raised her great granddaughter Sierra for many years, and this was an absolute highlight of her life.
To say Delores loved children is an understatement. Delores could always be found at any family gathering or event playing and interacting with the children in attendance. She loved to tell stories about her past and was very knowledgeable with Wyoming history.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Marvin, and daughter in law Mary Moore.
She is survived by her sons Bill Moore of Rock Springs; Donald (Cara) Moore of Cheyenne; daughter in law Betty Moore of Cheyenne; Sister Patricia Tugman of Colorado; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Delores will be missed by many as she impacted many people’s lives throughout her lifetime.
Services will be held Monday October 3rd at 3:00pm at Memorial Gardens Chapel.
