Dean Sulzer, 87, of Hillsdale, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Cheyenne.
He was born on October 6, 1932 in Palisade, Colorado.
Dean served in the U.S. Navy. He then was terminal manager for Salt Creek Freight Ways. He liked working on cars, so he built and opened up his own one-man auto body shop in Hillsdale until he retired.
In 1969 along with his father-in-law Al Steers, brother-in-law Jerry Yost, Jim Steers and Dutch Katsimeir, began their first meeting and in 1970 the Northglenn Elks Lodge was instituted. Dean loved watching Navy football, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Rockies with a Budweiser in hand.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Shirley Sulzer; children, Mike (Diane) Sulzer, Mark Sulzer, Norma (Dave) Miller; grandchildren, Heather (Willy) Rhoads, Shane Miller, Mike (Andrea) Miller, Mindy (Chris) Patterson; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Alva and Jenny Steer; and daughter-in-law Pam Sulzer.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with military honors and interment to follow at Beth El Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the American Legion Post 6.
