David L Wohllaib 62 of Cheyenne went home to heaven to be with his heavenly Father January 22, 2020. He was born October 17, 1957 in Tacoma, Washington to Kenneth and Kathryn Wohllaib.
Following high school, he began his military career by joining the U. S. Army, then joining the U.S. Navy and retired from the Navy in 1998. He enjoyed telling stories of his experiences in the military and especially of the places where he was stationed. David then attended Southern Indiana University where he received his bachelor’s degree in education development.
After hearing that his father was very ill, he moved to Colorado to assist in his care. During this time, he discovered that he thoroughly loved nursing care. David attended nursing school and received his LPN. He worked at Life Care Center as an LPN for approximately 10 years both in Colorado and then Cheyenne.
David met his wife Debbie in Colorado and they were married in 2012. Together they took many vacations from Canada to Mexico, Washington State to Florida and many places in between.
He was an avid Denver Broncos football fan and had a vast knowledge of football players and statistics both of college and professional teams. His favorite animal was cats and he loved and spoiled his favorite cats Daisy and Dixie. David’s favorite TV show was Star Trek and he had watched every episode of every show many times. He also liked the band Queen and watching movies.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Wohllaib of Cheyenne; three sons, Christopher Wohllaib of Lombard, Illinois, Seth Wohllaib of Parchment, Michigan and Joseph Wohllaib of Cheyenne; his mother, Kathryn Wohllaib of Cheyenne, siblings Douglas Wohllaib of Houston, Texas and Diann Wohllaib of Cheyenne; six step daughters, one step son and three grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wohllaib.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
In lieu of flowers friends may contribute donations in his name to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
