David Roland Pruitt

January 31, 1956 — March 11, 2025

Cheyenne

David Roland Pruitt, born on January 31, 1956, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on March 11, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, after suffering a heart attack. He was the cherished son of the late Willard and Louise Pruitt and the beloved brother of the late Richard Pruitt.

A deeply devout Christian and a man of dry humor, David was known for his passion for computers, and his love for science fiction. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, dedicating his career to protecting and serving his country. After retiring in 1996, David continued his work as a network analyst for Lockheed Martin.

While his professional life was marked by dedication and expertise, it was his quiet, introspective nature that truly defined him. David found his greatest joy in the company of his family, especially around his dining room table, where he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

David is survived by his three children, Jennifer Light (Daniel), Sarah Pruitt, and Matthew Pruitt (Jordan), along with his three grandchildren, Elijah Light, Isaiah Light, and Penny Pruitt. He also leaves behind his siblings, Susan Pruitt Williams (Gary), Mike Pruitt (Laura), and Steven Pruitt (Tammy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Emily Williams-Jo (Hugh), Allison Pruitt, Kristi Gramlick (Rob), Jeffrey Pruitt, Gregory Pruitt, along with great-nieces, and great-nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward.
