David A. Norrod, Sr., 59, of Cheyenne, died on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Cheyenne.
He was born on August 2, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana to William T. and Janet (Wespe) Norrod.
David attended Central High School before joining the U.S. Army from which he retired as a Sergeant First Class, earning two Meritorious Service Medals. He was a tank mechanic and was very proud of his time in “The Cav”. He was stationed in Kentucky, Washington, Hawaii, California, South Korea and Oman.
He moved to England after retiring from the Army with his English wife where he went to college to become an electrician. He studied at Highburg College, Cosham, Portsmouth England. He eventually started his own business whose clients included his favorite, St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, before moving back to the U.S.A. He continued to work as a journeyman electrician until his illness.
David was a diehard Bronco’s and Rockies fan, was a prolific reader, loved golfing, fishing, hunting (especially duck hunting), and was a great marksman loving to shoot guns. He loved his grandchildren with all of his heart and taught them about life and how to be a good American.
David is survived by two sons, Dennis Norrod (Casey) and David Norrod, Jr.; three grandchildren, Trevor, Isabelle, and Kaitlin; a half-sister, Carolyn Taylor; half-brother, Gary Norrod (Susan); brothers, Michael Norrod and Tim Norrod (Barbara); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother.
Services will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with burial to follow in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

He was a real character, smart as a whip, and funny as all get out.
His family will dearly miss him.
