David McKee, 74, died at the VA Hospital in Cheyenne Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
Born January 25, 1940 in Cheyenne. He was the son of William and Ruth McKee. He served in the US Navy for three years. After an honorable discharge, he ran two businesses, Rocky Mountain Printing and Rocky Mountain Photo, and was Plant Manager at Unicover Corporation.
David McKee was widely known by his family and friends and referred to himself as “the Little Fat Irishman”. He was an inventor and professional printer by trade. He loved working on computers and trying out new software. He put smiles on the faces of everyone, and never left a room without a hug from the people he loved. He will forever be known for his responses to people who said “How are ya?” to which he would reply ”Hawaii? That is an island in the South Pacific”. He loved bowling, playing pool with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his seven children, David (Tressa) McKee, Cindy (Dale Conner) Taylor, Michael McKee, Kelly Brown, Patrick (Monette) McKee, Shannon (John) West, Debbie (Gary Clayton) Closson; siblings, William (Alberta) McKee, Robert (Dorothy) McKee, and Sharon; nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald McKee.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday at Restoration Fellowship Church.
