David Thomas Johnson

November 4, 1953 — January 8, 2015

David Thomas Johnson, 61, died January 9, 2015 in his home. He is preceded in death by his father J.T. Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Michele Johnson and three sons Chris (Amber), Brian (Theresa), Adam, his mother Betty, and two brothers Jim and Mark and sister Mary Soverns and three grandchildren Preston, Samuel, and Gabi.
He was born Nov. 4, 1953 in Dallas, TX to J.T. and Betty Johnson. Dave graduated from high school in 1972 in Farmersville, TX and went on to be the first person in his family to go to college and graduated with a B.B.A. degree in accounting from East Texas State University. Prior to college, David was in the Air Force from ‘72-‘76 receiving Airmen of the year. He went on to work at Marathon Oil in Cody, WY from ‘91-‘00. Moving on, David was a Credit Analyst with Shoshone First Bank in Cody, he served on several boards and committees including Council President for the City of Cody, Region Three V.P for Energy, Environmental, and Natural Resources, and member of Transportation and Public Works. Dave completed his career as Deputy Director with the Wyoming Association of Municipalities where he served for eleven years.
A passion of David’s was doing things with his family which included boating, camping, skiing, golf, and tennis. One of Dave’s other important passions was soccer where he served as a coach and a referee with the Cheyenne Soccer Officials Association and the Cheyenne Soccer Club. He was also on the board of the local YMCA.
Cremation will take place after the viewing which will be at Wiederspahn-Radomsky from 9 am until 2 pm this Friday, January 16th. A celebration of his life will be at 10 am Saturday, January 17th at the First Congregational Church in Cheyenne.
