Daniel (Dan) Wunderlich, 80, died at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on August 18, 2015. A Timeless Memories Service will be held at 2pm Monday, August 24, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. . Dan was born on June 5, 1935 to Daniel and Vera Wunderlich in Cheyenne. He was a 1953 graduate from Cheyenne High School. Dan was employed by Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power Company for 32 years and started as a meter reader and moved to Collection Manager. He then retired as an Operations Dispatcher. Dan was an Eagle Scout and a flight engineer in the Wyoming Air National Guard. He was a former participant in several organizations, including the Jaycees. He was instrumental in the founding of Frontier Days’ “Hell on Wheels.” As a member of Cheyenne Cosmopolitan Club, he was active in the “Lure De Cure” fishing derby for diabetes, and also being in the Cheyenne Gunslingers and bowling leagues. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time and cooking with his family at his mountain home. He also loved to travel and gamble with his good friend Don Hasvold. Dan was a wonderful family man, loved deeply and will be greatly missed. Dan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen (Dunifer); a daughter Kathy Maez-Glaser (David) and a son David; two granddaughters, Gina Maez and Heather Glaser, all of Cheyenne; brothers Bob (Pat) Forbis; Charles (Joann) Forbis; Daniel Wunderlich Jr; a sister Danielle Hargis and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his favorite cat Fluffy. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Dale.
