Daniel “Danny” Griego, age 66, of Cheyenne, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 29th, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Danny was born May 14, 1958, in Cheyenne Wyoming to Jose A.(d) and Edalia Griego (d) and was a lifelong Cheyenne resident.
He was united in marriage to Linda Shauger on May 10th, 2003, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Starting at the age of 16, Danny began his lifelong career in the construction business. He began with Reiman Construction for 20 years and eventually retired after another 25 years at S&S Construction. He was a jack of all trades and a master of some. Those who knew Danny understood without a doubt that he took his job duties seriously and it was his way, or the highway.
Although Danny was a very strong-willed (most would say stubborn) man, he had a huge, soft heart, and once you got to know him, he would gladly give you the shirt off his back. He had a humorous personality and always had a joke to share. Especially the practical ones. He loved spending time with his many friends and family, and he was passionate about his Harleys.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Jose A. and Edalia Griego, his parents-in-law, Ralph and June Shauger, and his beloved aunt, Mary Gertrude “Trudy” Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife Linda, and his children: Antoinette Glidewell, Dominic Griego, Damien Griego, Minnie Valdez and Edalia Washburn.
Danny deeply loved his 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
He is also survived by his siblings and spouse: Rita Pacheco, Dorie Munoz and Eddie (Lorna) Griego, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter or Black Dog Animal Rescue.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. A reception to follow at The Gathering Place.
