Daniel Alcon, 96, of Cheyenne. Died at home peacefully with family. He was born June 3, 1924, in Ojo Felix, New Mexico to Jose and Rachel (Romero) Alcon.
Growing up in a small town everyone knows everyone. He had no idea that he was playing with the love of his life as children. But in April 13, 1943 he married his childhood playmate and love Cordelia (Romero) Alcon. They raised five children having lost their youngest child during infancy. Daniel worked for 34 years on The Union Pacific Railroad.
He had many loves in his life, the love for having a beautiful yard and veggie garden, love for fishing and a great love for wrestling. But his greatest love was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Cordelia; daughters, Marcia Mavec, Shirley Curtis and Darleen VanScoy; son, Henry Alcon; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Daniel was preceded by his parents; brother, Charlie Alcon; sisters, Edith Montoya and Emma Santistevan; sons, John Alcon and Lawrence Alcon; and a grandchild, Hank Alcon.
Vigil for the deceased will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Interment will be held at a later date.
