Dale A. Reed, 60, of Cheyenne, died suddenly on Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Cheyenne.
Dale was born on May 11, 1954, in Cheyenne, and lived here until 1970 when he moved to Gillette where he graduated from high school in 1972. He returned to Cheyenne in 1996 following is mother’s death to live with his father, J.O. Reed. He became the primary caregiver for his father until his death in 2010 as J.O.’s health deteriorated. Dale received his Associate’s Degree from LCCC and was a safety coordinator for several construction companies throughout the West. He was employed as a civilian contractor at F. E. Warren AFB at the time of his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and raising cattle. He was very athletic and participated in many different sports. Dale was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two brothers, Don Reed of Billings, Montana, and Jay Reed of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; sister, Janet Dodson, of Cheyenne and his nephew, Brian Reed, and two nieces, Jennifer Bennett and Keri Hill of Billings; and a life-long friend, Dan Oldenburg. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, J.O. and Lou (Burns) Reed.
Life Commemoration services will be Friday, 3:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Beth Wilson officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel
Interment of his urn will take place in Mt. View Cemetery at a later date.
