Curtis Junior Renfro, 85, passed away at home August 14, 2014, after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Curtis, or C.J., as he preferred to be called, was born in Eaton, Colorado on October 26, 1928 to Henry Renfro and Mamie (Lynn) Renfro.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Hohnstein) Renfro; two sons, Steven (Helen) Renfro of Arizona and Richard C. (Jane) Renfro of Cheyenne; two daughters, Linnette J. (Homer) Weaver of North Carolina and Jeannette Lastraglio of Cheyenne; sister, Lela Jean Griffin of Greeley, Colorado; two granddaughters, Whitney Renfro of Arizona, and Vanessa Weaver of North Carolina; two grandsons, Brandon Weaver of Denver, Colorado and Joshua Renfro of Alaska.
C.J. grew up in northern Colorado and enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17. He and his wife were married in 1947 at Champagne Chapel, Warren AF Base, and celebrated 67 years of marriage on August 10. He left the 3450th Air Police Squadron as a T/Sgt. after 15 ½ years, spent six with the Cheyenne Police Department, 12 years as a security officer with Grand Central Stores and 2 years as a security officer with Unicover. He also owned Cheyenne Lawnmower Service and Beeper People of Cheyenne. He retired as an agent for Telstar Communications.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Florence, Genevieve, Virginia Ann, and Arlene.
Private family services will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
