CURTICE “CHRIS” ANDREW THOMPSON, age 76, of Cheyenne, passed away at the Davis Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 1, 2022, after a short illness. He was born on July 26, 1945, in Albuquerque, NM to Bill Thompson and Robbie Eugenia Collins.
Chris retired from the U.S. Navy in 1983, and later worked for the Cheyenne Veterans Administration as an Electrician/Electronics Technician, and then Maintenance and Grounds Foreman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering with old televisions and radios, auctions, Roller Derby, and caring for the mostly “unadoptable” dogs that he and Charise have rescued for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Charise Marie Thompson; children, Rene Luck (Mike), Curtice Thompson, Jr. (Tammi), Rhonda Schilousky, Cassy Torres-Kamtz (Luke), and James Thompson (Sarah); grandchildren, Cori Gainan, James Gainan, Matt Gainan and Tyler Luck; Zack Lukenbill and Chelsey Thompson; Zairyk Schilousky; Gaby Torres and Seve’ Torres, and Kaelin Thompson; great-grandchildren, Kieran Gainan, Bryden Gainan, Graysen Gainan; Tatiyana, Madison and Sawyer; and Alikay Thompson; sister-in-law, Rochelle Pelfrey; nephew, Michael Pelfrey; nieces, Shannon Roberts and Lisa Wood; and also an Aunt and numerous Cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his, father, Bill Thompson; mother, Robbie Anderton Collins; mother-in-law, Donna Roberts; grandmother, Nora “Mamaw” Collins; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Donations can be made in his name to the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel (1900 E 19th Street, Cheyenne, Wyoming) on Tuesday, April 12th at 10:00 am. Reception at The Gathering place immediately following the services.
