Craig Hiett

Craig E. Hiett, 73, of Cheyenne, died February 17th at home surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born on November 11, 1951, in Sidney, NE, to Lester and Doris Hiett. Craig lived on the family farm in Peetz, Colorado, until he left for college. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO.

In December of 1982, Craig became a franchise owner of AAMCO Transmission, opening his first shop in April of 1983 in Cheyenne, WY. Later, he purchased a Meineke Muffler franchise and added three more AAMCOs in Colorado. Craig remained a franchise owner until his passing. Craig was an active member of the Cheyenne community. He became a member of Kiwanis on June 7, 1994, joined Toastmasters in 2003, and remained a member of both until his passing. When Craig was not participating in Kiwanis or Toastmasters, he loved traveling with his wife on their motorcycle or sports car, playing golf, and woodworking. 

Craig is survived by his wife, Laurie (Hickman) Hiett, children Joslyn (Tate) Reyes and Nate Hiett, and stepchildren Brandon (Portia) Peterson and Brittney (Ryan) Goude. His grandchildren: Cora and Grant Reyes, Cayden Hiett, Lauren and Taylor Peterson, and Finnegan, Dekker, and Connlan Goude; brothers Brad Hiett and Kurtis (Diana) Hiett; niece Lauren and nephews Brandon and Brett. Craig is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Doris. 

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Cheyenne, WY, on March 15th at 1:00 p.m. Those who wish may donate to CurePSP at curepsp.org/scientific2025.
